Vitaforce Powder — Complete Multivitamin

Vitaforce Green Powder Review -- one of the best green powder formulas

Vitaforce Powder — Multivitamin Strength

I find it interesting that Vitaforce brand green powder has specifically formulated their powder to function as a complete multivitamin, meaning that they’ve added in everything to their formula that’s on the list of essential vitamins and minerals that the body needs on a daily basis.  While this is an intriguing claim, it’s somewhat hollow in our humble opinion.  We’ve already made the claim previously that if a person takes a complete green powder, meaning a green powder with a high star value in completeness, then they really shouldn’t have to take any kind of normal dietary supplements because the leading green powder formulas are so full of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.  Vitaforce, however, is the first formula that we’ve come across that actually has intentionally sought to replace the multivitamin.  So while that’s a great aim, it doesn’t necessarily put them leaps and bounds above other brands.  The vitamins and minerals they claim that other brands are lacking are relatively common vitamins and minerals, things like Vitamin B-12, Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin E, Folic Acid and Zinc.  Vitamin D and Calcium are common in dairy products, and Vitamin E is common to most seeds and vegetable oils.  So as long as you’re eating dairy and seeds and vegetable oils, you’ll most likely be getting the rest of the vitamins and minerals that are lacking from your green powder combination.

Nutritional Yeast

Vitaforce is however, the first brand of green powder we’ve reviewed that has nutritional yeast in its formula.  Nutritional yeast is full of health benefits and protein and has itself been called a superfood.  It has 18 amino acids, making it a complete protein, and 15 minerals.  Many vegetarians use nutritional yeast as a supplement for meat.  Nutritional yeast also contains the trace mineral chromium, which is known as Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF), and is helpful for people who are dealing with diabetes.  So if you’re a person either dealing with diabetes or having blood sugar issues, the Vitaforce powder might be the right blend of green powder for you.  If you aren’t then you really ought to check out the reviews on Green Vibrance and Miracle Greens before making a decision, as these are comparable products that are around the same price or cheaper in many cases.

Vitaforce Green Powder Review

Vitaforce green powder formula has made some bold claims about its ingredients.  1) It claims to be “The only green food powder that provides all your daily vitamins and minerals as nature intended.” 2) It claims to be “the only multivitamin/multimineral supplement that provides ideal amounts of each nutrient.”  We have mixed feelings about these claims.  One, we like their formula and how they’ve created it to truly be complete.  But two, it’s hard to set yourself apart in a crowd of amazing green powders like Green Vibrance and Miracle Greens whose formulas have been getting better and better for 20 years in the case of Green Vibrance.  And I love how Green Vibrance states right on it’s label what version of green powder you’re drinking.  Currently mine says “Version 10.1″ meaning that I’m on the 101st version of the formula.  That’s pretty impressive.  They’ve obviously put a lot of thought into their formula, finding lots of ways to make it better.  So when I see a new green powder come along that claims to be the only this, or the only that, it’s a little hard to take serious.  But let’s get into the claims more thoroughly.

How Complete is Vitaforce?

For one thing, their probiotic content is very poor.  Not that you need probiotics to have a complete powder, since probiotics aren’t an essential nutrient that you’d find in a multivitamin, but their formula has only 2 billion probiotic cultures per serving.  That may sound like a lot, but Green Vibrance has 25 billion cultures per serving, which is quite a difference.  2 billion cultures per serving just isn’t enough to do much.  So what do they have?  They have all of the ingredients you’d want in a green powder, things like:

  • Green Grasses
  • Algae
  • Lots of Juices
  • Phytonutrients
  • Amino Acids
  • Essential Fatty Acids

Their claim of being the only green powder that also functions as a multivitamin is mostly due to their addition of Vitamin B-12, Vitamin D, Calcium, Folic Acid and Zinc, which they claim is largely missing from other green powders.  That may be true, but these vitamins aren’t really all that difficult to come by in the normal foods we eat.  So if these are the only vitamins that separate Vitaforce from other green powder combinations, then I’d say they’re bold claims are pretty shaky.  I will say however that their superfruit blend is very impressive and I like the fact that they add nutritional yeast into their formula which has a wide variety of benefits, and is also a rich source of protein.

Vitaforce is just as expensive as the leading brands, and sometimes more expensive.  What I like to do when I run out of a green powder is to see which brand is on the best sale and then buy that one.  Vitaforce, Green Vibrance, and Miracle Greens are all fairly close in terms of ingredients and one can pretty well switch between the different powders.  That being said however, if you like the fact that Green Vibrance is so power packed with probiotics, you might not want to switch to another powder unless it’s really on a great sale.  But the choice is yours.

Miracle Greens Review

Miracle Greens Powder Review

Here is another example of a great green powder.  This one, just like Green Vibrance, has just about everything you could want or need from a green powder.  It has a full range of green grasses and algae, a nice blend of probiotics, some healthy herbal extracts, and a few adaptogens thrown in.  For those of you who don’t know what an adaptogen is, it’s a natural herbal compound that’s thought to increase the body’s resistance to stress, anxiety, trauma, and fatigue.  This powder is actually almost identical to Green Vibrance, both in ingredients and in cost.  Some might ask, well why then would you do a review on both since they’re almost the exact same product?  The reason why it’s awesome to have both products reviewed is because you have twice the opportunity to catch one of these products on a great sale.  Miracle Greens, for example, is on a half off sale right now through the link above.  It’s about $10 cheaper than Green Vibrance is right now for the same amount.

A few Miracle Greens ingredients that I’d like to highlight:

Natural Herbal Extracts

  • Gingko Biloba
  • Milk Thistle
  • Plant Enzymes

Antioxidant Juices

  • Blueberry Juice Powder
  • Elderberry Juice Powder
  • Papaya Juice Powder
  • Cherry Juice Powder

Other Ingredients

  • Aloe Vera
  • Mangosteen
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger

Miracle Greens Ingredients

The ingredients that I’m really intrigued by are the last 4 listed above.  Aloe Vera is rare in green powder formulas and has some amazing health benefits.  In addition to that, mangosteen, turmeric, and ginger are ingredients I haven’t seen in any other green powder formula.  These are awesome ingredients because they’re all powerful anti-inflammatory compounds that can really help people suffering from arthritis and other conditions related to inflammation.  Anti-inflammatory compounds are a great addition to a green powder, something that I haven’t seen in any other kind of green powder.  If you’re suffering from arthritis, then I’d definitely seriously consider Miracle Greens above other green powders.

There are a few differences between this Miracle Greens and Green Vibrance that put Green Vibrance a little bit in the lead however.  Green Vibrance focuses more on bio-availability than Miracle Greens does.  For example, Miracle Greens has 8.5 billion probiotic cultures per serving, whereas Green Vibrance has 25 billion per serving, which is 3 times more.  Probiotics give your digestive system a nice boost in efficiency and help you digest the nutrients you take in.  In addition to that, Green Vibrance purposefully tries to use compounds that are closest to their raw original state.  This makes them more absorbable and useful to the body than compounds which have been heavily processed.

Green Vibrance Review — Adaptogens

This is just a secondary Green Vibrance Review about one of the types of ingredients.  For the full, original review, click here.  One of the things we’re really impressed with about Green Vibrance is its use of adaptogens. For those of you who haven’t heard that term before, an adaptogen is a natural herbal compound that’s thought to increase the body’s ability to handle stress, anxiety, fatigue, and trauma. Though this hasn’t been scientifically proven, many of these herbs have been successfully used for many thousands of years by other cultures.  This is one of the reasons why Green Vibrance got 5 out of 5 stars for completeness.  They have just about everything you could ask for.  Here are the three adaptogens that Green Vibrance has in its formula and what they do:

  • Schizandra Berry Extract

Schizandra berry extract has a very powerful “normalizing” action.  What this means is that, if you take it in the morning when you’re just waking up, it will wake up your mind and give you a boost of vitality.  Conversely, if you take it in the evening or at night, it will have a calming, soothing effect, and will help stave away things like stress and anxiety.  Schizandra berry extract was first discovered in China around 2000 years ago, and has been used since for its powerful effects.

  • Eleutherococcus Senticosus Root Extract

Eleutherococcus senticosus root extract is more commonly known as Siberian Ginseng.  Most people have heard of ginseng before, of its vitalizing action on the body, boosting energy levels and cognizance.  This particular form of ginseng also contains polysaccharides which help boost the immune system.  Ginseng as well has been used for many thousands of years, primarily for its vitality boost, but also because it generally promotes whole body wellness.

  • Suma Root Extract

Suma root extract is also known as Brazilian Ginseng.  It has similar properties to Siberian Ginseng but is more nutritious.  Instead of supporting the immune system, Brazilian Ginseng has 19 of the amino acids the body needs.  That’s very high from a non-meat source.  It also contains a wide variety of vitamins and minerals.  The primary function of ginseng though is to boost vitality and physical performance, and provide clarity of thought.

Field of Greens Review

The makers of Green Vibrance have gone all out with this product.  If you’re looking for a product that concentrates on being all natural, organic, and raw, then this is the product for you.  Three things to note with this product:

  • 100% Raw
  • 100% Organic
  • 100% Kosher

Raw Foods

We can’t say enough about how great raw foods are.  A raw food is defined as an unprocessed food that has not been heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit.  Unprocessed, raw foods are as close as you can get to being in their original state.  None of the nutrients have been destroyed through processing or overheating, and they’re all maximally bio-available.  If you’re looking for a green powder that has the absolute most bang for your buck, then this is the one you want.  A green powder that’s 100% raw is just incredible as far as nutritional vegetable value, then this is the product for you.  You won’t find a green powder any more power packed with green nutrients that are fully bio-available.  Here are its main ingredients:

  • Alfalfa Grass (Whole-Leaf and Juice)
  • Barley Grass (Whole-Leaf and Juice)
  • Oat Grass (Whole-Leaf and Juice)
  • Wheat Grass (Whole-Leaf and Juice)
  • Alfalfa Sprout
  • Collard
  • Parsley
  • Broccoli
  • Spinach
  • Kale

Limiting Factors

There are a few limiting factors though.  Because the product boast 100% raw food content, it’s somewhat limited on its ingredients.  For example, other positive ingredients such as probiotics and algae can’t be a part of the formula.  Both of these compounds require processing in order to be safely edible and therefore can’t be termed as “Raw.”  So even though being 100% raw is a great, it limits the kinds of ingredients that you can have in your formula.  But this shouldn’t dissuade any of you who are interested in this product.  There is literally no better green powder on the market than this one.  Being 100% raw is incredible.

Cost is another limiting factor.  This product, even on sale can run up to $80 for a 2 month supply.  If you’re seriously considering trying this product, we recommend that you mix it with another formula to help extend your supply.  There are a lot of other great green powders out there, and mixing a half a serving of something like organic Spirulina powder with Field of Greens is a great idea because Field of Greens doesn’t have algae in its formula.  That’s a great way to not only enhance the combination a bit, but to extend your supply of Fields of Greens powder.
